COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
We’re lucky to be surrounded by some pretty wonderful people and organizations. If you like what we have to share, you’ll like them too. If you’re curious about our area, we highly recommend you check them out.
Accommodations & Experiences for all
We genuinely could not believe our luck when we found out our neighbors own one of the most beautiful venues we've ever seen. They have cabins for rent, a massive barn for events, consistent quality music and shows, and even an annual music festival with some of the PNW's most talented artists every July.
the hardest working animal rescue
Center Valley Animal Rescue (CVAR) holds a special place in our hearts for being the place we found our sweet and gentle giant, Ludo, back in 2024. Not only do they care for pups in need, they don't turn critters away - wildlife, farm animals, and pets - if they're a part of the animal kingdom they give heart and soul to help.
hyper-local farm goodies
A small-but-mighty grocer in our community is a local favorite and a compulsive stop for visitors due to their hyper-local, farm fresh goods. It's like Whole Foods, if Whole Foods actually cared about the farmers that provide their goods.
hard cider & community hub
What started as homemade cider for a couple to share with neighbors and friends turned into a local institution. If you've spent any time around the Puget Sound you've probably enjoyed one of FinnRiver's tasty ciders (we love the Pear cider ourselves) but if you haven't been to their flagship taproom in Chimacum, it's worth the trip.
our favorite sit-down restaurant
Ajax cafe in Port Hadlock quickly became our go-to restaurant for special occasions. The waterside restaurant is consistently delicious and manages to deliver high-quality food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Flutter-by pizza pie
Mark may make the best personal pizzas we've ever had. No joke. If you don't catch his food truck at an event on the peninsula, you should pop by the restaurant open W-F, 4-8pm.
